Gameboy Color - Buffy Review

Based on the television series, this action game has you fighting vampires as Buffy.

Gameplay: 1.5/10

Like most action fighting games involving martial arts, you control your character Buffy to fight and destroy evil vampires which look more like zombies than anything else. Buffy can kick, punch, jump and crouch. You can also pick up objects such as trashcans to hurl at the enemies. Finally to defeat vampires you press down and attack when they are sprawled on the floor to deliver the final stake to the heart. If you don't do this, they will return back to hurt you.

Unfortunately, that's it for the control. There are no special moves aside from throwing the enemy, no cool combo attacks or any other attacks. What's worse is the annoying stupid enemies. You don't even have to really beat the enemy either, all you have to do is to kick them to the floor and drive a stake through their hearts destroying them instantly. The stronger enemies such as the bosses do have to be smacked around a little so they'll stay on the ground long enough to be stabbed but otherwise they pose little challenge.

The graphics are alright not too bad but not particularly exciting either.

Nothing out of the ordinary here. Just not particularly exciting.

Poor boring levels and enemies that differ only in colour make this game boring and not worth your time.

Longevity: 0/5
The game will last you about two minutes, both of which will be used to start the game and watch the dialogue.

For: Okay character control.

Against: Everything else.
