Gameboy Color - Battleship Review |
|
A colour remake of the battleship game released for the gameboy, this game as far as I can tell is exactly the same aside from the colour and possible the music. Gameplay: 6/10 Like any game of batteship each person starts with a grid and must place down four ships on the grid. Your battleship, destroyer, frigate and submarine. During your turn you must select which grid to attack on your opponenet's side and then you'll know if you hit or miss. During your turn, instead of attacking normally you can also use different items as long as you haven't run of them or the ship which has that item hasn't been sunk yet. The battleship allows you to fire a large missle which hits five squares in an X, your destroyer allows you to fire three missile instead of one, your frigate allows you to fire two missiles instead of one and your submarine allows you to use a radar which scans four squares and tells you if there are any ships there. You can choose to play against the computer or another human. Unfortunately, that's the whole game really. That's it. Its so simple you could even just play it without the gameboy. With real paper and save money at the same time.
This game won't last you very long. It is after all, nothing more than battleships.
Adequate naval music and menu selection sounds. Nothing great.
Graphics are pretty okay. It certainly enhances the game and you do have animations of missiles firing.
For: Battleship items. Against: Everything else. |
